The French economy expanded by 0.5% in the third quarter, according to final data released on Friday by the national statistics office INSEE, confirming the preliminary reading.
The growth figure was in line with economists' expectations, as a Reuters poll of 25 economists expected growth of 0.5% for the second largest economy in the euro zone.
The data showed a significant increase in French exports, reaching a growth of 3.2% in the third quarter, which is a noticeable improvement compared to the increase of 0.3% recorded in the previous quarter. INSEE attributed this rise in exports mainly to a sharp increase in shipments of transportation equipment
